Terms of Service

By using Rotaset, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What Rotaset Is

Rotaset is a study-planning tool designed for medical students. It generates personalized study schedules based on your preferences and, optionally, your Google Calendar events. Rotaset is a planning aid, not medical or academic advice.

2. Beta Service Disclaimer

Rotaset is currently in beta. This means:

• The service may experience downtime, bugs, or unexpected behavior.
• Features may change, be added, or removed without notice.
• Study schedules generated by Rotaset are AI-generated suggestions only. They are not a substitute for professional academic advising.
• We are not responsible for academic outcomes based on Rotaset's schedule recommendations.

By using Rotaset during beta, you acknowledge these limitations and agree not to hold Rotaset liable for service interruptions or schedule inaccuracies.

3. AI-Generated Content

Rotaset uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude) to generate study schedules. These schedules are:

• Suggestions based on the information you provide
• Not guaranteed to be optimal for your specific situation
• Not reviewed by medical education professionals
• Based on general cognitive science research, not your individual medical school's curriculum requirements

Rotaset's AI does not have access to your actual course materials, grades, or curriculum. Always use your own judgment and consult your academic advisors for official guidance.

4. Your Account

You sign in via Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Google account. You must be at least 18 years old to use Rotaset. One person per account.

5. Your Data

You own your data. We store it to provide the service. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Rotaset for any purpose other than personal study planning.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.
• Share your account with others.
• Use Rotaset to process data of other individuals without consent.
• Circumvent any security or access controls.
• Attempt to access other users' data.

7. Google Calendar Integration

Connecting Google Calendar is optional. If connected, Rotaset accesses your calendar in read-only mode to detect events and schedule around them. You can revoke access at any time via your Google Account permissions or Rotaset Settings.

8. Service Availability

Rotaset is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rotaset is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• Any academic outcomes or exam results.
• Data loss due to service interruptions.
• Decisions made based on AI-generated schedules.
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Rotaset in the 12 months preceding the claim. Since Rotaset is currently free, this limit is $0.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion removes your profile, preferences, and all associated data permanently within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of King County, Washington.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice in the app at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of Rotaset after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
